Went to this restaurant spontaneously one evening. Did a reservation online before making ways. Got there for 8:45pm and was seated immediately. Firstly I have to say the restaurant was very clean and all the employees smelt very good, I have had experiences in restaurants where the waiters/waitresses have bad body odour which is off putting, but not here. Secondly the staff were very very hospitable, they knew exactly when to step in to help us with the menu and refill our drinks without making us feel like we were being watched. The food was unlike any other, and I have been to some of the top restaurants like Benares, Amaya, Jamavar, Chutney Mary and I have to say the menu here is very innovative and different. Everything tastes amazing and there are some unique dishes that I have not tasted before. More so, the chef knows how to cook meat and fish perfectly. I tried the fish curry, buttermilk chicken, prawns and their popular lamb chops and it was amazing! I also tried their rice pudding dessert and their cheesecake, the rice pudding was very nice but I would give the cheesecake a miss as the chocolate base is overwhelming. The masala chai was amazing to end the meal with. I would highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be returning to try other things on the menu. The service, ambience and food is amazing. It's been a while since I've been to a restaurant as amazing as this with no complaints.

We tried the lamb chops and the fish curry. Lamb chop was really tasty and cooked perfectly, Fish curry was also tasty. Tried the prawn starters, which were good with the drinks. Cocktails are a bit pricey, but it is worth trying for the fancy vibes and the presentation.

This is such a great spot! The food taste really authentic and beautifully plated and full of flavor. The menu has a good mix of classic and modern Indian dishes. The fish curry was super creamy and flavorful, perfect with the fluffy rice and soft paratha. And the desserts were a dream—the chocolate one was rich but not too heavy. Definitely worth checking out if you’re into Indian food!

A very solid experience! Loved the vibe and the food. We were celebrating a birthday and they made it special with great service & cake! Side note: The breads, pyaaz kachori, chicken tikka masala, lamb chops were really delicious.

The lunch set was a great deal, featuring curry lamb and curry fish—both were rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. The lamb was tender, and the fish was cooked just right, soaking up all the aromatic curry goodness. The standout, though, was the mango non-cocktail drink —it was absolutely amazing! Refreshing, sweet, and with just the right tanginess, it complemented the meal perfectly.

It was my first visit to Manthan and I’m truly impressed by the food . The fish curry was top notch , full of flavors and we also ordered sag panneer and dal makhani which was okay . The masala paratha was really nice . We ordered jackfruit uttapam on the recommendation of the person who served us and I really liked it ( howerver not for people who can’t take spicy as it was hot) . In all, I may come back again to try few more things on the menu and the desserts ofcourse, which we missed out this time because we were too full. We paid approximately 100 for two people .

Tried the lunch set menu at Manthan – both the seafood platter (spicy fish curry crispy prawns) and meat selection (tender lamb curry fried chicken) were excellent. Don’t miss their fig cocktail and mango lassi!

Manthan Mayfair is an absolute gem! From the moment you step inside, the impeccable service and amazing ambiance envelop you. The decor is thoughtfully curated, inviting a sense of introspection, perfectly aligning with the restaurant's name. Our culinary journey began with the Artichoke Tikki – a revelation! As first-timers, we were utterly blown away by the incredible flavors and textures. For the main course, the vegetarian thali was a truly sumptuous affair. Each element, from the perfectly cooked Soya Chop and creamy Saag Paneer to the comforting Tadka Dal and rich Matar Paneer Makhani, was a delight. Accompanied by fragrant steamed rice, refreshing raita, and beautifully made tawa paratha, it was a feast for the senses. The subtly sweet Coconut Payasam provided a lovely end to the thali. To top it off, they surprised me with a delightful complimentary Chocolate Mousse for my birthday – such a thoughtful touch! Manthan is a must-try experience, and incredibly convenient, being just under a 10-minute walk from Oxford Circus. Highly recommended!
